Park Rules & Regulations

Hill County Ordinance - effective May 8, 2014

  1. BEAVER CREEK PARK IS A FEE AREA. All Park use requires possession of a current Park permit which may be purchased at the Park Office, Hill County Courthouse and various businesses in Havre. Day use permits are also available at designated locations in the Park.
     

  2. Camping in existing established sites only.
     

  3. Littering and vandalism are strictly prohibited. All Park users are responsible for the clean up of their area before leaving the Park. Dispose of all rubbish in the containers provided. Do not throw bottles, cans or other rubbish in the creek, toilet vaults or fire pits.
     

  4. Park users may not remove live trees or vegetation or disturb topsoil. Cutting of live or standing dead trees is not allowed without prior approval of Park Superintendent.
     

  5. Cutting of firewood for sale is not permitted. Firewood may be cut for personal use with a permit obtained from the Park Superintendent.
     

  6. Use of FIREARMS in the Park is prohibited, including the use of Paintball guns.
     

  7. Hunting is strictly prohibited.
     

  8. Underage drinking is not allowed.
     

  9. Loud music at any time is prohibited. Quiet hours begin at midnight and end at 7:00a.m.
     

  10. Hill climbing with motorized vehicles is not allowed. Motorized vehicles may not be driven off established roads.  This excludes snowmobiles and ATV’s during the winter months when the ground is frozen and adequate snow cover exists (resulting in no disturbance of vegetation and topsoil.) During the summer season May 15 through September 15, no off-road vehicles such as dirt bikes or ATV’s are allowed AT ANY TIME.
     

  11. Dogs must be on a leash at all times unless inside a fence or confined area.
     

  12. DO NOT LEAVE CAMPFIRES UNATTENDED. Campfires must be kept within existing established fire rings. No pallets or wood with nails may be burned. Campfires must be fully extinguished before leaving the site. Campfires may be restricted by the Hill County Commissioners when fire danger increases. Persons found negligent of causing forest or range fires will be held accountable for the cost of fighting such fires and any resulting damage. Be equally careful with cigarettes.
     

  13. FIREWORKS are not permitted at any time.
     

  14. Persons wishing to reserve large group picnic areas must understand reservations may be made at any time and have priority.
     

  15. No cattle shall be allowed on the Park without following Park grazing policy. No livestock will be permitted on the Park from the first day of January through Labor Day, except for recreational riding.
     

  16. All non-posted access roads have a maximum speed limit of 15 MPH. All vehicles and drivers must be licensed. All state secondary highways and county roads have posted speed limits.
     

  17. Parking campers, trailers and other vehicles is limited to a maximum of 14 days on a site in any 30 day period. Vehicles in violation will be towed at the owner’s expense.
     

  18. Vehicles and campers left unattended for more than 48 hours will be considered abandoned and will be towed at the owner’s expense.
     

  19. No Motorboats are allowed on Bear Paw Lake. See Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Boating Laws.
     

  20. Beaver Creek Reservoir (Lower Beaver Creek Lake) is a no wake zone and all water craft is limited to 10 horsepower.
     

  21. Ice houses must meet regulations of the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

 

VIOLATION OF ANY OF THESE RULES IS A MISDEMEANOR AND PUNISHABLE BY A FINE OF $500 AND 6 MONTHS IN JAIL.

 

A $15 penalty will be charged to permits sold on site.

 

A reward of one hundred dollars ($100.00) will be paid to any person or persons who provide information leading to arrest and conviction of any person or group of persons who willfully damage or destroy any Park Property.
